Question 1

Maximum Document Width?
How Wide are you Widest documents? Inch
Note: Scanner are limited in the maximum scanning width and you therefore need to choose a scanner that is equal to or exceed your maximum scanning width requirement which is typical the same width as your widest documents.

Color or Monochrome Scanner?
Do you need to scan color documents, monochrome documents or both?
Note: Black & White drawings, Engineering drawings, Blue prints usually only requires monochrome scanning everything else is color. A color scanner can also scan in monochrome and nowadays a color scanner is only marginally more expensive.

Thick Documents or Fragile Documents?
Do you need to scan Thick or mounted materials? Yes No
Do you need to scan Fragile material (textile, art work etc.)? Yes No
Note: Most documents does not require Thick media scanning. If unsure it is most likely a No.
Fragile material is typical artwork, textile or very old documents and is rarely scanned. Fragile
material is best handle by a Flatbed scanner.
